Professor Zhu Jia′s clinical experiences in treatment of lung cancer were summarized and the etiology and pathogenesis of lung cancer were analyzed,including toxic smoke attacking the lung,pathogenic toxin invading the lung,improper diet,derangement of emotional factors and deficiency of antipathogenic qi.The interaction of lung and stasis,invasion of lung by cancer toxin and qi and yin deficiency are the pathogenesis of lung cancer.Phlegm and stasis are the secondary pathological products.They are the pathological products for dysfunction of zangfu organs and also the causative factors that lead to the deficiency of antipathogenic qi and lung cancer.The invasion of cancer toxin to the lung is the key of the occurrence of lung cancer and the crucial factor of it.Lung yin deficiency exists in the whole process of lung cancer.Strengthening pathogenic qi,eliminating pathogenic factors and consolidating spleen and stomach are the treating principles.Strengthening pathogenic qi refers to benefiting qi,nourishing yin and warming yang qi.Eliminating pathogenic factors refer to dispersing lung qi,eliminating phlegm,softening masses,clearing heat,detoxification and removing stasis.Consolidating spleen and stomach refers to regulating liver qi and harmonizing the functions of spleen and stomach.In the paper,feixiaoliu powder,the empirical formula of professor Zhu Jia for treatment of lung cancer.Such formula acts on benefiting qi,nourishing yin,clearing heat,detoxification,removing damp,resolving phlegm and regulating liver qi.
