Understanding Three Dimensions of “Powerful Support” to Ideological and Political Education in Colleges

把握好习近平提出的中国特色社会主义理论和实践发展新境界的开辟,为思想政治理论课建设提供了"有力支撑"的论断,需要有前提、核心和路径三个维度。前提是认识思想政治理论课的本质和功能,即其本质属性是意识形态课,其功能是通过理论教育而达到政治认同。核心是突出中国特色社会主义理论和实践发展的新境界,即要彰显科学社会主义理论逻辑和中国社会发展历史逻辑的统一,凸显中国特色社会主义的历史坐标和世界坐标的交叉,展现对民族复兴和世界文明发展价值的意义。路径是强化科学的理论思维能力和正确的价值判断能力的培养,以使学生把"四个自信"奠定在自觉的基础上。

There are three dimensions, namely premise, core and approach, to understand Xi Jinping’s argument that reaching the new stage of theory and practice of Socialism with Chinese characteristics provides "powerful support" to ideological and political education.Premise means we need to recognize the essence and function of ideological and political education. Its essence is ideological education and its function is to forge political identity with theoretical education. Core means we need to emphasize on the new stage of the theoretical and practical development of Socialism with Chinese characteristics, that is to say, showing the unison of the theoretical logic of scientific socialism and the historical logic of the development of Chinese society, highlighting socialism with Chinese characteristics’ position in history as well as its position in the world, manifesting its significance to both national rejuvenation and world civilization development. Approach means we need to strengthen the education on the scientific theoretical thinking ability and the correct judgement of values, in order that the students have "four matters of confidence" consciously.
