To investigate the effect of Leonurine on growth performance and immune function of broilers,a total of 320 healthy broilers with similar body weight at 1-day-old(Ross 308)were randomly allotted to 4 treatment groups consisting of 8 replicates, adding 0,15,30 and 60mg/kg Leonurine in the basic diet respectively. The feeding trial lasted for 42 days. The production performance, immune organ index and immunoglobulin index were measured at 21 and 42 days of age.The results showed that 1)Leonurine had no significant effects on daily feed intake, daily gain and feed-to-weight ratio of broilers in each group.2)Leonurine had no significant effect on thymus index, spleen index and bursal index.3)The level of serum Ig A,Ig M in broilers was significantly increased in the 60 mg/kg dose group, but there was no significant effect on serum Ig G.4)Leonurine had a significant inhibitory effect on E.coli and Salmonella in the intestine of broilers, but had no significant effect on Lactobacillus.Consequently, dietary supplementation of Leonurine had no significant effect on growth performance and immune organ index of broilers, but it could increase the content of immunoglobulin in the serum, inhibit the number of E.coli and Salmonella in the intestine, protect the amount of Lactobacillus, and regulate the intestinal flora balance.
