摘要 Toni Morrison is the first black female writer who won the Nobel Prize in Literature. This novel shows the damage of internalized racial discrimination in the perspective of the little black girl, and illustrating the disastrous consequences of the alienation between the black and their native culture.Although slavery was abolished after the American Civil War, racial discriminations against blacks were far from eradication. The double exploitation of social system and social consciousness, combined with the continuously deepen thought that blacks are despicable race, eventually lead to the irresistible tragedy.
