A Hundred-year History of Singapore and Malaysia’s Chinese Fiction, a book with milestone significance in the field of overseas Chinese literature study, has unique academic value as it sets a precedent for the China's Mainland scholars to study the "national history" of overseas Chinese literature and becomes the first and the unique monograph on the history of overseas Chinese fiction in China's Mainland as well as the first personal monograph with profound insights on history of overseas Chinese literature study. For the first time, it discusses a century-long historical development of Singapore and Malaysia’s Chinese fiction from the evolution of literary trends and further elaborates the "localization" issue of Singapore and Malaysia’s Chinese literature in the academic circles of China's Mainland.
