摘要
近年来,随着中国对外交流的日益频繁,来华经商人士与境外游客的数量与日俱增,公示语逐渐演变成为城市对外联系的桥梁。其翻译优劣直接影响国际社会对该城市的印象与看法。本文分别对城市中公共交通、旅游景区、商业经营场所的英文公示语进行汇集,并对错误的语料进行分析,提出翻译修改建议,有利于改善城市的文化环境,树立美好的城市形象。
In recent years, with the increasingly frequent exchanges between China and other countries, and the ever increasing numbers of business people and overseas tourists coming to China, public signs have become a bridge for foreign exchange of a city. The translation quality of public signs therefore has a direct impact on how the city is perceived by the international community. Through analyzing these inappropriate translations of public signs selected from transport, commercial sites, tourist destinations, this paper will provide suggestions to correct them, which helps to improve the cultural environment of the city, and to establish a favorable image of the city.
