基于《牡丹亭》语料库的译入、译出群体风格对比研究 被引量:8

A Corpus-based Contrastive Study of Group Translators’ Style Between In-coming and Out-going Translation in The Peony Pavilion

摘要 本文以《牡丹亭》英汉平行语料库为依托,参照英语原创戏剧文本和《牡丹亭》的意象系统,从统计数据和符号意象翻译策略两方面考察了中国文学走出去之下的译入、译出群体风格特征。研究发现:与译出文本相比,译入文本词汇量更大,变化更加丰富,用词更加正规,单个句子承载的信息含量更大;在符号意象的处理上,译入文本更加尊重文本,多使用“存象存意”的翻译策略,而译出文本常常抛弃原文的具象,具有简化的趋势。导致这些差异的主要原因在于意向读者和翻译理念的不同。 Based on the Chinese-English paralleled corpus of The Peony Pavilion and by reference to four English drama scripts and the image systems of The Peony Pavilion ,this paper carries out a research on the different features of group translators’ style between in-coming and out-going translations of The Peony Pavilion in light of formal statistics and symbolic image translation strategies. It has found that:(1) compared with the out-going translations,the in-coming translations enjoy a larger vocabulary,richer lexical variety,more formal lexical usage,denser information in average sentence;(2) in translating symbolic images,the in-coming translations pay more respects to the original texts and usually keep the image and meaning at the same time,while the out-going translations often abandon the images,forming a tendency of simplification. The main reasons causing those differences are the different intended readers and different translation ideas.
