During the Japanese -Puppet period, the forest resources of the Songhua River Basin suffered from the crazy logging of Japanese invaders. The Japanese aggressors transported a large amount of felled timber to the country through the construction of a forest railway, while opening a series of timber factories in the northeast region to meet their wartime needs. The destruction of forest resources by Japanese colonists has seriously affected the ecological environment in the basin, resulting in increased soil erosion, frequent droughts and floods, a decrease in the number of precious animals and plants, water pollution in Songhua River, and serious air pollution, while it does great harm to the production and life of the people during and after the war.
