The Path to Saving the Nation——A Study of Hu Huanrong’s National Defense Geography

胡焕庸是当代中国著名的地理学家,但学界对其学术的研究多集中在人口地理学、经济地理学等方面,而忽视了他在其他学术领域的重要贡献。本文旨在对胡焕庸的国防地理研究略作论述,认为国防地理研究是胡焕庸学术成就的重要组成部分,反映了他经世致用的治学思想与学术救国的赤诚之心。

Hu Huanyong is a famous geologist in contemporary China. However, the researched on him launched by the academic circle are mainly concentrated on demographic geography and economic geography, which neglects his important contributions to the other academic areas. This article aims to launch a brief review of Hu Huanyong’s research on national defense geography, which is of opinion that the research on national geography is an important part of Hu Huanyong’s academic achievements. It also reflects his academic thought of humanistic pragmatism and loyal mind of saving the country with learning.
