摘要
概念隐喻是一种心智活动过程,通过整合多个隐喻之间的相互联系使抽象的目标域具象化。美国作家凯特·肖邦的短篇小说《德西蕾的婴孩》中女主人公的经历蕴含着婚姻是一座雪山这一概念隐喻,其包括婚前、婚后以及婚姻的解体所对应的爱是依附的根基,建构是没有热度的堆积和死亡是不堪重负的雪崩三个小隐喻,折射出女主人公婚姻悲剧背后的种族冲突。
Conceptual metaphor is a process of mental activity, which embodies those abstract targets by integrating more than two related metaphors into it. The heroine’s experience in the short story "Désirée’ s Baby" of Kate ·Chopin contains a conceptual metaphor "Marriage Is A Snowberg", including three metaphors:"Love Is An Attached Foundation""Construction Is An Athermal Accumulation""Death Is An Overburdened Avalanc",corresponding to her three different periods of marriage,which reflects that the fundamental cause of the heroine’s tragedy of marriage is the racial conflict.
