“Chinese Style and Chinese Bearing” of Zhang Henshui’s Works

后五四时期的中国文学,以接受外国文学影响的新文学为正宗,却出现了发扬传统、面向大众而写作的张恨水。他的小说立足现实,以史家笔法建构"民国史";微显志晦,体现出庄正雅洁的文人理想;他关注民生,描画世情百态;继承传统,改良章回体式。这些特点与毛泽东提倡的"中国作风与中国气派"正相符合,对于当下文学的发展,也有其现实意义。

In the period of post May 4 th movement, Chinese literature took the new literature that influenced by foreign literature as the orthodox, but Zhang Henshui carried forward the tradition culture and wrote for the masses. His works were based on reality and construct the "History of the Republic of China";show meaning implied, embodying the ideal of a dignity and elegance man;he pays attention to the people’s livelihood and depicts the world;inherits the tradition culture and improves the chapter-titled novels. These characteristics coincided with the " Chinese Style and Chinese Bearing " advocated by Mao Zedong, and had practical significance for the development of contemporary literature.
