内地公办本科院校校名英译情况研究

A Study of the Translation of the Names of Chinese Public Universities

纵观我国高校译名,无规则可言,虽多名学者已对此话题提出自己的看法,但至今仍未有统一的标准。近年来,内地高校发展迅速,越来越多的高校加大了对外交流的力度,英文校名作为一张对外推广的名片,对高校的发展起着重要的作用。本文通过研究校名翻译的现状,提出了几点思考,希望这一领域可以受到重视,同时也希望帮助高校更好地利用校名这一品牌推广自己。

No rules can be found concerning the methods of translating the names of Chinese public universities. Although many scholars have put forward their points of view, the standards for translation remain to be set. In recent years, many universities in mainland develop rapidly and universities in increasing number have paid much attention to communicating with foreign universities. Accurate translation of university names plays an essential role in developing the universities themselves. The author discusses some aspects of current translation after observing and analyzing the data collected and tries to set some standards.
