清代学人徐善考

Research on Xu Shan,a Scholar of the Qing Dynasty

清代嘉兴人徐善身世多舛,但其发奋读书,终能兼通文史,在经学、史学等方面均有创作。徐善颇有才华,不过其著作多不流传。通过碑传、正史、地方志等资料对徐善家世、交游、著作进行梳理,可见其际遇、学术之梗概,使这位学者在清代这样一个儒者辈出的时代中不致于湮没无闻,被遗忘于历史的角落。

Xu Shan, born in Jiaxing of Zhejiang province in Qing Dynasty, had a very hard life. But he studied hard, and created works in Confucian classics, history and so on. Xu Shan is quite talented, but most of his works are not handed down. It’s helpful to use historical books and local chronicles to learn more about the experience of his scholarship and life, making him not be oblivious and forgotten in the corner of history.
