Rural education has always played an important role in the education system. Due to continuous efforts, the past 70 years has seen great achievements in rural education, which raised the whole nations’ education level and human capital. While there are still challenges in the development of rural education under new circumstance, measures should be adopted to adapt the trend of modernization and the needs of people. Specific measures include: consolidating and improving the level of rural education, implementing compensatory policies for rural education, supporting teachers in rural areas with greater intensity, focusing on key barriers in urbanization and promoting the diversified development of rural education.
