The rapid development of big data has a tremendous impact on the traditional statistics.This paper makes a comparative analysis of the characteristics of traditional statistics and big data,summarizes the differences and internal links between them,and on this basis carries out SWOT analysis of traditional statistics under the background of big data,and analyses the advantages and disadvantages of traditional statistics in the era of big data,as well as the opportunities and challenges faced by traditional statistics.According to the background,traditional statistics has the advantages of stable data sources and unified data standards,and has the disadvantages of relatively narrow scope and single data sources.In this context,traditional statistics is faced with the challenges of expanding data sources and promoting quality improvement,as well as the transformation of statistical production mode and weakening of statistical functions.
