当代畲族题材电影中的女性形象可分为少女和母亲两类。她们美丽善良、勤劳坚忍,自觉承担本民族文化守望者的任务。但现有畲族题材电影中的女性形象特征较为单一,作品对畲族女性形象的塑造能力还比较欠缺,原因或许就在于畲族本土、本族女性导演和编剧的空白。
