名字的基本功能是识别个体的符号,衍生功能是赋予文化意义和心理愿望。经过梳理和探索彝族取名方式和名字含义后,发现取名行为是一项文化心理运行机制,而名字则反映了人的愿望、信念和意图等心理意义,其中愿望是吉祥、信念是生命健康,意图是人类繁衍和发展等。而且,名字是个体心智与文化的连接点,为个人心理传输各种精神营养,哺育心智健康发展的路径。同时,名字还反映了人对自然规律、事物特性和社会属性等认知过程。
