Huang Xiaowei, Vice-President and First Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), complimented the young award recipients for persevering in their pursuit of their lofty ideals during the presentation of "For Women in Science"(FWIS) awards, in Beijing, on April 29. The event was hosted by the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) and Lforeal (China) Co., Ltd. The event marked the 15th time that the three organizations hosted the annual activity. The awards were first presented in 2004. So far, 134 women researchers have received the awards.
