王韬与志书、艳史及《申报》——兼论晚清沪上文人的“俗写”传统

Wang Tao and the Writing of Local History of Shanghai in Literature

以《申报》所开启的通俗文学书写及杨销读物出版为标志的晚清上海的文学繁荣,与王韬关联密切。王韬不仅以志书、艳史、小说的文体形式主动参与到这一文学热潮之中,与《申报》早期文艺副刊以及《申报》馆丛书形成近乎结盟的合作关系,而且还从文学审美理念、文学创作、文学批评等多角度、多方式引领甚至塑造着这一轮通俗文学热潮在文学及文化上的特质,亦事实上形成了一个晚清沪上文人“写俗世”“通俗写”的“俗写”传统,这一传统甚至还一直延伸到后来的“鸳鸯蝴蝶派”之中。

The literary prosperity of Shanghai in the late Qing Dynasty, marked by the popular literature writing and the publication of best-selling books opened by Shenbao, was closely related to Wang Tao. Wang Tao not only actively participated in the literary upsurge in the form of Zhishu, Yanshi and novel, but also formed a close alliance with the early literary supplement of Shenbao and the series of Shenbao library books. He also led and even shaped the upsurge of popular literature in literature and culture from many angles and ways? such as literary aesthetic concept, literary creation and literary criticism. In fact, the characteristics also formed a tradition of "vulgar writing" in the late Qing Dynasty and Shanghai,which even extended to the later "Mandarin ducks and butterflies school".
