清末苏州商会职能初探——以瑞丰轮船公司档案为例

Analysis on the Functions of Suzhou Chamber of Commerce in Late Qing Dynasty——Taking the Ruifeng Shipping Company Files as an Example

清末的苏州地区作为比较早开放的通商口岸区域,其商业迅速发展起来。船运业是这一地区商业的重要组成部分,船运业的兴盛在一定程度上反映了清末苏州商业的发展。通过分析所查苏州瑞丰轮船公司的档案资料,研究认为这一公司已经具有了较为先进的管理理念和模式。苏州商会对于船业公司是十分支持的,尤其是在船业纠纷中,船业公司仰赖于商会与政府的沟通。

As an early opening area of trade port in Late Qing Dynasty, the commerce in Suzhou developed rapidly. As shipping is an important part, the prosperity of shipping industry to some extent reflects the development of Suzhou commerce. By analyzing the archives of Suzhou Ruifeng Shipping Company, it is believed that the company has advanced management concepts and models, and that the Suzhou Chamber of commerce has supported shipping companies, especially in shipping disputes.
