会话含义视角下解读《围城》中方鸿渐的性格弱点

An Analysis of Weakness in Personality of Mr Fang in Fortress Besieged from the Perspective of Violation of Cooperative Principle

人际交流过程中需要共同遵守一些基本原则特别是合作原则,但是实际交际中人们并不遵守这些原则,说话者可能故意或被迫违反某些合作原则,会话含义就会出现。作为一部经典的文学作品,许多学者对《围城》从文学角度进行了研究:研究这部小说的剧情,婚姻观,叙事手法等等。相比之下,很少从语言学角度研究这部小说的人物的性格。从合作原则角度分析该作品的人物性格的研究也不多。本论文将从格莱斯会话含义理论与合作原则角度通过分析这部小说主要人物方鸿渐与其他四位女性朋友的会话,总结出他的性格弱点,有助于读者更好地理解这部作品。

Interpersonal communication needs to follow cooperative principle to achieve its purposes.However,participants often violate the principle and its maxims,so the conversational implicature arises.As an attractive literary classic,Fortress Besieged has been studied by many scholars.From the perspective of literature,they have studied its plot,the view of marriage,narrating methods,etc.By contrast,there are relatively few researches on the personalities in the novel from the perspective of linguistics.It has not much study on the analysis of personality of the characters in the book from the perspective of cooperative principle.The paper will analyze the conversations of the core character Fang hongjian with 4 different girlsinthis novel from the perspective of violation of co-operative principle,and then summarize his weakness of personalities.It produces some practical significance by helping the audience better appreciate literature works.
