综观今日翻译学界,解构之风日甚,传统译学的理论基石“忠实”“对等”面临倾覆之险。《当代译学批判》一书坚持学术思考的独立性,借解构主义的方法对自翻译研究学派以降的当代西方翻译理论进行了精要的梳理、解构和批判性研究,指出西方当代译论在回答译学基本问题上所存在的问题,澄清种种误读与偏见,揭示翻译活动的本质,并探讨当代译学的发展与趋势,倡议译学界志同道合的学者齐心协力、共同研究,促成传统译论与当代译论的相互沟通、彼此接纳,建立译学新系统。

The deconstruction theory has shaken if not undermined the traditional translation theories in which "faithfulness" and "equivalence" are enshrined. In Critique of Contemporary Translation Studies, an elaborate critique and critical study of the contemporary western translation theories is conducted with a deconstructive methodology, in which the inadequacy of the contemporary western translation schools’ answers to the fundamental questions of translatology is pinpointed, misunderstandings and prejudices concerning the subversiveness of contemporary western translation theories are removed, the essence of translation is thus revealed, and the development and trend of translatology is tentatively discussed in earnest call for joint efforts to construct a complete and sound system of translatology.
