Research Progress on Dysphagia in Elderly

回顾近几年关于老年人口咽吞咽障碍(OD)的研究进展。分析表明,老年人口咽吞咽障碍是一种还未被意识到或未被重视的综合征,未来的研究不应仅局限在与基础疾病相关联的吞咽问题上,还需要将OD作为一个重要的临床症候群,提高认知度,以改善现状。

Recent advances in the study of dysphagia in the elderly population were reviewed. The analysis shows that oropharyngeal dysphagia(OD) is a syndrome that has not been recognized or paid attention to for the elderly. Future research should not be limited to the swallowing problems associated with underlying diseases, but should consider OD as an important clinical syndrome, increase its awareness, so as to potentially improve the status.
