《美狄亚》描写了惊心动魄的两性战争。在该剧中,爱情至上者美狄亚在与利益至上者伊阿宋的残酷博弈中宰杀了两者所有的共同后代,切断了个人与家庭通往未来的道路。该剧悲剧意义在于:极端利己主义的两性战争牺牲了无辜的后代,但作为当事人的男女两性除了相互推诿责任外,没有人自我反思,没有人主动承担责任,于是这类悲剧便一再在人间上演,具有普世性。

Medea is a story of a soul-stirring sex war. Medea believed love was most important while interests mean everything to Jason. At last, Medea killed their own children as revenge for Jason’s infidelity, cutting off the future way to the individuals and family. The values of studying this tragedy are: the extremist sex war which sacrificed the innocent children, but women and men mutual shirk responsibility instead of self-reflective, no one shouldered the responsibility actively, and then the tragedy became universal.
