The undergraduate education in Ivy League universities is regarded as a model for American research universities.High-quality undergraduate education in Ivy League universities benefits from advanced undergraduate education concepts,clear undergraduate education goals as well as effective undergraduate education practice,showing eight characteristics as follows:making full use of resources and focusing on undergraduate basic courses;strictly controlling admission and graduation,and holding the quality bottom line;based on general education,advocating undergraduates comprehensive development;breaking the boundaries of disciplines and shaping the interdisciplinary qualities of undergraduates;enriching the curriculum system and realizing individualized choices for students;setting up special programs for freshmen and focusing on innovation ability cultivation;Integrating school and enterprise resources and pushing the internationalization development of undergraduates;paying attention to the faculty development and making joint efforts to achieve academic excellence.
