专业认证背景下的高分子材料与工程专业英语的教学改革探索 被引量:5

摘要 《专业英语》是高分子材料与工程专业的一门专业必修课,作为一门重要的专业工具课,使学生完成由大学基础英语向科技英语的过渡与延伸,对提升学生阅读并理解高分子专业英文资料的能力及运用英文进行基本专业学术沟通和交流的能力起着至关重要的作用。在广东省高水平大学建设以及工程教育专业认证的背景下,本文以本人教授的《高分子材料与工程专业英语》课程为例,在教学过程中引入"以学生为中心"、"以成果为导向"以及"质量持续改进"等三大教育理念。本文通过对课程教学改革的探索和改进,不仅提升了学生的英文实际运用能力、自学能力及综合素质,同时为将来从事相关高分子材料领域的研究和开发工作奠定必要和坚实的基础。 "Academic English" is a compulsory course for polymer materials and engineering. As an important professional tool course, students can complete the transition and extension from basic English to scientific English, which plays a vital role in improving students’ reading and understanding ability of professional English materials, and improving the ability to use English for basic professional academic communication. Under the background of the construction of high-level universities in Guangdong Province and the engineering education accreditation, this paper takes the course "Academic English for Polymer Materials and Engineering" as an example, and introduces three major educational concepts:"Student-Centered","Outcome-Based Education", and "Continuous Quality Improvement" in the teaching process. Through the exploration and improvement of the curriculum teaching reformation, this paper not only enhances the students’ practical English application ability, self-learning ability and comprehensive quality, but also lays a necessary and solid foundation for future research and development in the field of polymer materials.
