A Summary of the Research on the Calculating Method and Application of Gini Coefficient

基尼系数是衡量一个国家或地区个体收入分配差距的指标,现有针对基尼系数的研究主要集中在基尼系数测算公式及其解释、基尼系数社会福利含义、基尼系数收入来源和收入群体分解以及运用基尼系数衡量不平等四个方面。综合来看,尽管学者围绕基尼系数进行了诸多研究,但尚未形成一种简易且高效的测量基尼系数的方法。

The Gini coefficient is an index to measure the income distribution gap of individual in a country or region.Current studies on Gini coefficient mainly focus on four aspects: different calculation formulas of Gini coefficient and their explanations,social welfare implication of Gini coefficient,the decomposition of income source and income groups of Gini coefficient and the use of Gini coefficient to measure various inequalities.On the whole,although many researches have been made by scholars about Gini coefficient,a simple and efficient method for measuring Gini coefficient has not yet been formed.
