Dream and Mirror——The Mood of the Last Generation in the Supplement of Journey to the West

明末清初是我国文化发展的一个大节点,董说的《西游补》作为那个时代的代表作品,不但取得了高度的艺术成就,而且对后世的小说创作也产生了很大的影响,本文分析了《西游补》当中的若干意象,指出板荡的社会背景下,士人们不知何去何从的茫然与惶惑,是当时典型的心态。

The late Ming and early Qing Dynasty is a major node of China’s cultural development. As a representative work of that era, Dong Shuo’s "Journey to the West" not only achieved a high degree of artistic achievements, but also had a great impact on the creation of novels in later generations. This paper selected several images in "Journey to the West" and the incarnation of the characters. Analyze its direction to explain the theme of the novel. The world in dreams and mirrors implies the entanglement of the author’s mood, the turbulent times and the broken aristocracy. The combination of the two will inevitably produce different feelings. It can be said that Dong Shuo put forward a proposition of the times.
