1921年4月,驻扎合肥的新安武军在市面发现盖有省立二中印章的《自由魂》,遂以“过激党”罪名将校长王仁峰诱捕。此事经媒体报道,引起舆论强烈关注。各地皖人积极营救,当局迫于民意压力随即将王仁峰释放。诱捕事件的背后,一方面反映了地方的新旧冲突,一方面也与安徽此时正在兴起的党狱风潮密切相关。王仁峰最终获释,从另一个方面说明,尽管是北洋军阀专制时代,团体形成的民意表达仍是各方不能忽视的一个力量。

In April 1921, the Xin'an Army stationed in Hefei found the Free Soul with the official seal of No. 2 High School of Anhui Province in the market. And e principal Wang Renfeng was arrested on a charge of "Radical Party." The incident was reported by the media and aroused strong public concern. People across Anhui Province began rescue work immediately. Principal Wang Renfeng was released by the authority forced by the pressure. Behind the trapping incident, on the one hand, local conflicts between the old and the new were exposed , and on the other hand, it is closely related to the rising trend of party prisons in Anhui at that time. Wang Renfeng was finally released. From another point of view, although it was the era of the tyranny by Northern Warlords , the expression of public opinion formed by the masses was still a force that could not be ignored.
