读书亦救国的历史见证——湖南长沙湘雅医学专门学校1919年6月《学生救国报》叙录

A Historical Testimony of Study and National Salvation:The Narration of The National Salvation of Students from Hunan Changsha Hsiang-Ya Medical School,June 1919

美国耶鲁大学斯特林纪念图书馆发现了由湘雅医学专门学校学生编辑出版的《学生救国报》。该报出版于“五四运动”时期,仅4张,是毛泽东创办的《湘江评论》被查封之后,所接办《新湖南》的前身。该报19位学生编辑者,后来多成为我国著名的医学家、医生和医学教育家。近百年来,它在国内一直失传,这次为第一次以实物的形式全面发现。作为一份有重要历史文献价值的资料,对其栏目、标题、内容和作者叙录,可见上述学生们当时读书亦救国的史实。

Four pieces of The National Salvation of Students were founded in the Sterling Memorial Library of Yale University in the United States,published by the students of Hsiang-Ya Medical School in Changsha,Hunan Province,China,during the May 4th Movement in 1919.The paper was published in only four copies,after the closingdown of The Shian Kian Weekly Review,established by Mao Zedong.The previous research of this newspaper all came from the study of New Hunan,and its editors,the 19 students,had mostly become the famous Chinese medical scientists,doctors and medical educators later.For nearly a century,The National Salvation of Students has not yet been seen in real life,and this was the first full discovery in this kind.In this paper,we sorted out this important historical document,and made briefly comments for its column,title,content and author.
