Three Views on“Elite Education”

从精英教育的词源入手,对精英教育的含义进行辨析,发现精英教育一词存在三种语境下的三种意蕴:一是从教育理念的角度理解精英教育,即指重视英才教育的观念;二是从高等教育发展阶段的角度理解精英教育,特指马丁·特罗所概括的高等教育精英阶段;三是从培养模式的角度理解精英教育,是强调精英培养的方式、途径、体系、模式等。厘清精英教育的含义,有助于我们准确把握精英教育的本质,指导并引领精英教育实践。

The analysis of the connotations of"elite education"by studying its etymology finds that this expression has three meanings in three contexts:1.a philosophy of education that emphasizes the training of the talented;2.a stage of education particularly referring to higher education as Martin Trow summarizes;3.a model of education that is focused on methods,approaches,and systems for cultivating the gifted.A clear understanding of the meanings will help us grasp the essence of elite education and guide us in implementing the elite education.
