An Analysis of the Differences between Chinese and Western Architecture under the Influence of Religious Culture

建筑是凝固的艺术,也是我们了解一个民族、国家文化基因的外化表征的媒介.从建筑材料、构造、形式、空间及建筑的发展演变等诸多方面,我们都能够从中读到该民族的精神追求、审美观念和文化价值取向.反之,根据不同文化影响的比较也可窥探其建筑的差异.本文试从宗教文化对建筑的影响入手,探析中西方建筑成因背后精神诉求和文化因子的差异.

Architecture is the art of solidification, and it is also the medium for us to understand the externalization of a national cultural genes. From the aspects of building materials, structure, form, space and the evolution of architecture, we can understand the spiritual pursuit, aesthetic concept and cultural value orientation of the nation. Conversely, comparisons between different cultural influences can also be used to explore the differences in their architecture. This paper attempts to analyze the influence of religious culture on architecture and explore the differences between spiritual appeals and cultural factors behind the causes of Chinese and Western architecture.
