经济开放与制度质量提升关联研究——来自“一带一路”沿线国家的证据

Correlation between Economic Opening and the Improvement of Institutional Quality: Evidence from the Countries along the Belt and Road

以国际国别风险作为一国制度质量衡量指标,利用2001-2012年41个“一带一路”沿线国家面板数据对各国进出口国别结构、贸易开放度和投资开放度与制度质量之间的关系进行实证研究。结果表明:总体上贸易开放不一定能够促进制度质量的提升,但是贸易开放不会降低一国的制度质量;投资开放程度的提高对一国制度质量的提升具有明显的正向作用;向发达国家的开放程度的提高会促进一国总体制度质量的提升;对发达国家出口比重的提升不利于反腐败和官僚机构质量的提升,对整体制度质量的改善有一定的负面影响。

Taking international country risk as a measure of the institutional quality of a country, and using the panel data of 41 countries along the Belt and Road from 2001 to 2012, an empirical study was conducted on the relationship between the institutional quality and the import and export market structure, trade openness and investment openness of the countries. The results indicate that in general, trade opening may not promote the improvement of the institutional quality, but it will not lower the institutional quality of a country;the increase in the degree of investment openness has a significant positive effect on the improvement of the institutional quality of a country;the increase in the openness to developed countries will promote the improvement of the overall institutional quality of a country;the increase in the proportion of exports to developed countries is not conducive to the improvement of anti-corruption and the quality of bureaucracies, and has a certain negative impact on the improvement of the overall institutional quality.
