福克纳和阿来两位作家都对社会转型期下人类精神上的困境给予了极大的关注,关注人类的价值及其意义。《喧哗与骚动》与《尘埃落定》在人物设置方面既有诸多的相似之处,又独具特色,具有极大的可比性。两部作品都塑造了“傻子”、家族守护者、于乱世中挣扎的女性以及宗教信徒这四类人物形象,展现了一个家族不可避免的衰败史。对这些人物形象进行分类比较,解析处于社会转型期中不同类型的人物的复杂心理,可以引发人们对于人性以及社会更深的思考。

Both the two writers, Faulkner and Alai, have paid great attention to the light of human spirit in the period of social transformation at the same time, concerning the meaning and value of humans. In this paper, The Soud And the Fury and Red Poppies are greatly comparable in the setting of character, with lots of similarities but also having distinct features. In both works, the characters of “fool”,“family keeper”,“women struggling in chaos” and “religious believers” are created to reveal the inevitable decline of a family. Also, they classified and compared the characters to evoke our deep thinking about human nature and society, through parsing the complex psychology of different types of characters in the period of social transformation.
