There are three usages of “luo[lo■]” in Pingjiang dialect of Hunan Province. One is as a verb, which can be divided into substantive verb and location verb;anther is as a preposition, which can be divided into space-time preposition and source preposition;the third is as an auxiliary, which can be divided into direction and completion. This paper will describe the above usage of “Luo”in detail, and explore the grammaticalization process of “Luo”, as well as the geographical distribution of the same usage and its causes.
