柔克义考察文献所见康藏地名——基于清代地理文献的对勘研究

The Comparison of the Place Names of the Kham Tibetan Areas in William Woodville Rockhill’s Expedition Literature with them in the Chinese Historical Geographic Literature

美国藏学家柔克义分别于1889年和1891年先后两次深入康藏地区考察,在其考察文献中涉及大量康藏地名、手绘地图及考察日记等。文章以柔克义考察文献为主,结合清代地理文献考证了柔克义两次考察中康藏段路线、地名,认为清代舆图、地理志中存在地名漏衍、主次路线地名混用等问题。

William W. Rockhill, an American Tibetologist, made two extended expeditions into the Kham Tibetan areas in 1889 and 1891. A great deal of place names, hand-painted maps and diaries of the Kham Tibetan areas can be found in his expedition literature. This article made a comparison of the place names of the Kham Tibetan Areas in William Woodville Rockhill’s expedition literature with them in the Chinese historical geographic literature, and it is found that there are some names mix-used and omitted in the Qing’s maps and geographic literature.
