Data is a secondary product of the great development of modern information technology.With the formation of big data environment and the maturity of Internet ecology,artists began to be able to use open and real data as materials and content for artistic creation,and a large number of new forms of art works emerged.This kind of art works based on real data has unique connotation and distinct epochal characteristics.Starting from the origin and development of data art,this paper differentiates the concept of data art,explores the essential characteristics of data art,expounds the connotation of data art,and puts forward the enlightening function of data art on contemporary computing technology.
