新中国成立以来,中国残疾人事业走过了不平凡的历程,从一个较低的起点起步,由小到大,由点到面,探索了一条符合中国国情、具有中国特色的残疾人事业发展道路。中国残疾人联合会及其地方组织以其独特的组织优势,成为残疾人事业中最活跃的因素、中坚力量和发动机,承担着理念倡导者、权益维护者、政策推动者、社会发动者、实践先行者和国际事务开拓者等重要角色,发挥了重要的作用。

Since the founding of New China,the cause of disabled people in China has gone through an extraordinary course.The path to the cause of disabled persons,which is China-specific and in line with China’s national conditions,is explored based on a lower starting point,by taking the experience gained at one unit and popularizing it in a whole area.With its unique organizational advantages,China Disabled Persons ’ Federation and its local organizations have become the most active factor,backbone and engine in the cause of disabled persons.They play an important role in advocating ideas,protecting rights and interests,promoting policy,social activity,pioneer of practice and pioneer of international affairs.
