摘要
20世纪中叶,伴随着专业化时代的到来,美国公共知识分子纷纷谋职大学校园,投身专业生活,成为学院知识分子。这一转变带来了知识分子境遇与职责的变迁。张宛博士的专著《美国大学教师职业生涯发展历程:知识分子视角下的历史考察》从知识分子视角切入,对“二战”后几十年间美国大学教师职业发展历程进行系统剖析,深入探讨了这一时期美国学院知识分子的艰难境遇与对专业职责的坚守。
In the middle of the 20th century, with the arrival of the specialized era, American public intellectuals have sought employment on campuses, transformed themselves into college intellectuals and committed to professional life.This change brought about the changes of intellectuals’ circumstances and duties.From the perspective of intellectuals,the author has systematically analyzed the career development of American university teachers in the decades after World War II.And the book also probed into the difficult circumstances of American college intellectuals and their adherence to professional duties in this period.
