《世说新语·贤媛》32则所记23位女子,以一种特殊的群体构成,展示出具有时代特色的女性美。“贤”诠释了鲜明而另类的女才观,也明证了从“男才女貌”到“女才男貌”的变化趋势,显现魏晋风度的一个隐秘层面。其侧面揭示的魏晋时期崇尚女性才智、识鉴的社会风气和价值取向,对当下社会发展中女性的自我发展和社会价值观的调适有一定的借鉴意义。

23 ladies are depicted in 32 tales of as a group portrait in A New Account of Tales of the World- Talented Ladies presenting female beauty of its time. Talent is taken as a distinctive and unconventional perspective of femininity,showing a tendency to shift from “talented male and good-looking female” to “talented female and goodlooking male”,unveiling the hidden side of “charm of the Wei and Jin times”.
