摘要
《民主主义与教育》是杜威教育思想的集中体现,书中谈及的“人性、民主、发展、经验、活动”这五个关键词贯穿杜威教育思想始终。经验和活动所反映的是杜威思想的一种方法论,倡导行动中反思并开展研究,是一种实用主义的精神体现。该方法论受到民主和发展思想的引领与制约,没有民主,经验无从谈起;没有发展,活动无法展开。同时,这些认识需建立在人的依赖性与可塑性的自然之性的本体之上。五个关键词深刻体现了杜威教育思想的本体论、认识论与方法论。
“Democracy and Education” contains John Dewey’s main educational ideas to be reflected in the five keywords of human being,democracy,development,experience and activity. The last two concepts reflect a kind of methodology that aims at retrospection and research in realistic activities,which embodies his pragmatic view of education. And this methodology is restricted by the ideas of democracy and development,which emphasizes that there is no experience without democracy while no activity without development. All of these ideas are based on the natural instincts,which are of great dependency and plasticity. These five keywords deeply embody Dewey’s educational ideas in ontology,epistemology and methodology.
