摘要
心灵计算理论(CTM)一直被当作当代认知解释的重要范式,甚至被认为是解决传统二元论难题的一种新进路。在心灵计算理论中,强人工智能一直受人们的质疑,而弱人工智能似乎成为了避风港。弱人工智能主要基于计算隐喻来模拟大脑的运作,但它真的能回避所有责难吗?计算隐喻的理论局限性以及意识和理解相关的认知“硬”问题表明,计算对于认知既是不必要的,也是不充分的。
Computational theory of mind has always been an important paradigm in contemporary cognitive science, it is even considered as a new method to solve the traditional dualism problems. In the computational theory of mind, strong AI (artificial intelligence) has been doubted by some scientist while the weak AI seems to be taken as a safe haven. Weak AI simulates the operation of the brain that is based mainly on computing metaphor. But can it really escape all the blames? The limitations of metaphor, and the related “hard” problems reveal that calculation is neither necessary nor sufficient for cognition.
