Close reading plays an important role in the study of ancient Chinese literature in that it is the starting point and foundation of ancient literature research. The perceptual intuition generated in close reading of the texts can often become a breakthrough point of research, so it is complementary to peripheral research. At the same time, close reading is conducive to putting the author into the corresponding life situation to observe his/her emotional orientation, and making sure that the literature research is multi-dimensional, comprehensive, and in line with the logic of life.
