摘要
选取土木工程专业的本科生为研究对象,对专业英语教学进行改革实践,通过全过程的跟踪研究,说明改革效果,从而提出理工科专业英语改革的建议。从教学内容选择、教学方法使用、考核方式调整和学生问卷调查四个阶段开展教学实践,通过全新教学模式的应用,学生的学习积极性及对课程的综合评价显著提高。针对理工科学科专业特点及学生特点,确定着重学术英语的教学目标;加强意识引导,从低年级开始培养英语习惯;采用引导式、学生演讲式和专题讲座等多层次的教学方法;拓展教学内容,培养英文期刊检索和表达能力等对策。
Taking the undergraduates majoring in civil engineering as the research object, this research carried out the reform practice of teaching English for Specific Purpose (ESP). By tracking research of the whole process, the effect of the teaching reform is revealed, and suggestion for the ESP teaching reform for major of science and technology is hence put forward. The teaching practice is carried out in four stages:selecting teaching content, adopting reasonable teaching methods, adjusting assessment approach, and student questionnaire survey. The result of the reform shows that students’ learning enthusiasm and comprehensive evaluation of the course have been significantly improved because of the application of the new teaching model. It is suggested that emphasis should be on teaching academic English in accordance with the teaching objectives of the science and technology majors;consciousness guidance should be strengthened to cultivate English learning habit from the lower grades;multilevel teaching methods should be adopted, which include teacher guidance, student speech and special lecture, and so on;teaching content should be broadened to cultivate students’ ability of English literature retrieval and English expression.
