Study on Zeng Guofan’s Couplets in the Perspective of Huxiang Culture

曾国藩联语创作成就较为突出,内容广泛,不仅表现出浓厚的经世致用思想和湖湘儿女的血性精神,还兼收并蓄了荆楚文化中的巫鬼思想与浪漫悲情色彩。

Zeng Guofan’s Couplets has been known to people, and many researchers have studied it. However, there are fewer writers of using the perspective of Huxiang culture. Through close reading it can be seen that Zeng Guofan’s Couplets are of strong Huxiang cultural characteristics, which are embodied in practical thinking, bloody spirit and sad and romantic feelings.
