This article briefly introduced the doctor of nursing practice programs in the United States, including its origin and development, educational objectives, core abilities, professional directions,curriculum system,and faculty issue,etc. In addition,this article also discussed its implications for graduate education of nursing specialist in China to prepare qualified nurses.
