Series is attached much importance in the high-school mathematics. Series is destined to appear in the college entrance examination. There are a variety of question types involving series and the solutions for these questions are also varied. One has to spare great efforts for generalization and summary to learn the high-school mathematics well. By close examination on the tests in recent years, this paper sorts out the basic methods for the general formula of series and gives several regular tips. Our examples show that a good command over these methods and tips lends a quick hand to solutions of the problems and practically improve the problem-solving efficiency.
