Pinus taiwanensis var. damingshanensis is a special pine species distributed in mountains of Guangxi and Guizhou. The research on population of Pinus taiwanensis var. damingshanensis in four nature reserves was carried out in Guangxi and Guizhou to investigate distribution characteristics of germplasm resources of P. taiwanensis var. damingshanensis. It provides theoretical basis for more efficient protection and utilization of P. taiwanensis var. damingshanensis germplasm resources. Results showed that distribution of P. taiwanensis var. damingshanensis was scattered in Guangxi and Guizhou provinces. The distribution ranges from 23°30′11″ to 29°08′22″ in the north latitude and from 107°35′04″ to 110°33′10″ in the east longitude, and the altitude ranges from 1 134 to 2 031 meter. P. taiwanensis var. damingshanensis and Pinus massoniana were alternative species in vertical direction. Diameter structure analysis showed that all the four provenances showed uneven-age structure. The age structure of P. taiwanensis var. damingshanensis population from different provenances was different due to natural conditions and human disturbance.
