五四精神与当代青年的责任担当——“纪念五四运动100周年理论研讨会”综述

May Fourth Spirit and the Responsibility of Modern Youth: Summary of “Theory Seminar on Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the May Fourth Movement”

为深入挖掘五四运动的历史意义和当代价值,继承和弘扬五四精神,激发当代青年的爱国热情,上海社会科学院与中国青少年研究中心联合举办了“纪念五四运动100周年理论研讨会”。与会专家学者认为,百年来,中国的经济和国际地位发生了巨大的变化,中国青年的爱国情怀更加务实、理性、稳定,但青年思想也存在分化、断裂、脱节等问题。在习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想的指引下,新时代的青年要承继和发扬五四精神,承担起历史责任。

In order to deeply dig out historical meaning and contemporary value of the May Fourth Movement, inherit and develop May Fourth Spirit, and arouse the patriotic enthusiasm of modern youth to devote themselves to socialist modem construction, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and China Teenagers Research Center jointly organized“ Theory Seminar on Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the May Fourth Movement”. Specialists reviewed the historical logic of the May Fourth Movement and characteristics of various places on the seminar, in this process patriotic, progressive, democratic and scientific May Fourth Spirit taking shape. The domestic economy and international status of China have gone through a tremendous change, and the patriotism of Chinese youth has been more pragmatic, rational and stable for 100 years after the May Fourth Movement, but youth ideology has the issues of differentiation, fracture and disjunction etc. The youth of new era should inherit May Fourth Spirit and undertake historical responsibility under the guidance of Xi Jinping’s Socialist Thought with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era.
