The Development of the First Group of Customs Officials of New China——Review of the Workshop for the Officials of GAC, the Central People’s Government

新中国海关成立之初,亟需德才兼具的新海关工作人员。1951年4月10日至1952年6月9日期间,海关总署委托上海海关创办了中央人民政府政务院海关总署干部训练班。该干训班是新中国海关教育的开端,短短一年多的时间内,它为新中国海关输送了首批五百余名海关骨干人才,奠定了新中国海关教育体系基础。

After the inception of the customs administration of New China, there was a urgent need of customs official with a high level of capacity and integrity. During the period from April 10, 1951 to June 9, 1952, entrusted by the GAC, the Shanghai Customs held a workshop for the officials of GAC, the Government Administration Council, the Central People ’ s Government. This workshop marks the beginning of the customs education in New China. Within a short period of more than one year, it provided the first group of over 500 customs officials, who were the mainstay of the customs administration of New China, and laid a cornerstone for the customs education of New China.
